They work for what i want them for but note that a few of them tore while trying to open them. After the top tears off on one side there is no way of opening it and the bag is useless. I just had to throw one away last night. But they are pretty sturdy, I place 5 pounds of brass turnings in each bag and they are strong enough to hold all that weight.

These are quality, thick, strong bags. Purchased them for my sterling silver cuff bracelets, so I needed something air tight and strong enough for the weight and to be opened and closed regularly. These definitely fit the bill! The zip-lock feature is also very strong and takes a little effort to get them open.Exactly what I was looking for and will be ordering more in a smaller size.
