Just installed a pair on one set of shutters where the previous stopper broke. So far so good, what I did do is install them with the stopper facing the window and screw on the outside. 1) it's 10x easier and the stopper uses the window frame to stop vs the lip of the shutter valence. Wondering if anyone else has done this and has thoughts.

Almost perfect match for the sun-ruined ones I assume are the originals when my home was built. Easy removal and installation, too!
