I have the wall mount/panel style thread checker and it’s simply too bulky to have around a vehicle project or use around the shop. These individual style checkers are much more convenient and allow you to check studs and blind holes (which is often on vehicle projects. This set is super convenient as SAE and Metric are color coated for quick reference. I highly recommend these for any shop/garage!

I have one of the wall hanger ones of these, but this is even handier. Just hopefully I can keep track of all the pieces! 🤞 The foam insert is pretty good though and holds them pretty well at least when new.Maybe not quite as compact as it could be but really about as compact as it SHOULD be because the bits are far enough apart that you can get them out easily with chubbier fingers or probably even welding gloves.The quality of the machining and coating and everything is pretty good, not amazing but good enough to not be any issue. All the ones I spot checked had clean threads and worked well.

I've been needing one of these sets many times recently and I should have gotten it earlier. The set comes in the case but the have the holes already in them so you can put them on a cord which I'm going to do I think. I'd rather hang it up then have to mess about with the case. They're aluminum and very light weight. The kind mounted on the panel are too big this kind is better.

Before getting this thread checker, I used to have to drive to the big box store with a nut in my hand then spend copious amounts of time combing over their wall unit to try to find what I was looking for. Now I can do so from the comfort of my own home, which is a bonus in and of itself, but the amount of time it’s already saved me is notable.This is the kind of thing I never dreamed would be sold. I figured I’d just have to butter up a tool company representative as it seemed like something only they have access to. But now I have one and I’m very happy. I feel like I’m more excited about this little item than is probably normal… but sometimes you just need to let the little things in life make you happy.

These are really nice, 24 fittings in all. The case is on the lightweight side, but works fine. The quality of the fittings are top-notch. I wish I had a set like this decades ago, I would have saved a ton of time with trips to Ace hardware stores. This is really a nice add to my toolbox and shop. Kudos, and recommended!

Sometimes it's not possible to bring the part you're looking for a mate to with you when you go to the hardware store. This kit lets me determine the size and thread pitch of the nut or bolt I need so I don't need to buy an assortment of parts when I get there. I also like that it's got both metric and imperial sizes.

This nut and bolt thread checker is a must-have if you deal with hardware regularly. I’ve used it on a few projects where I had no idea what size bolts I was working with, and this saved me a ton of time digging through bins. The chain makes it easy to keep everything together, and the range of sizes is pretty comprehensive. It works well in tight spots too, which is a nice bonus. Definitely worth having in the toolbox.

Used it the first time within ten minutes of opening the package. No more trial and error and/or guessing. For me it is really nice for metric (I can eyeball SAE pretty well) and especially if I don't know if it is metric or SAE. I really like that the samples are not fixed in place and I can take it out and use it on a nut or bolt directly on whatever I am working on. Now maybe one day I will sort all the nuts and bolts I have tossed in a box. It will still be a chore but doable with these.
