There seems to be some kind of waxy coating on the paper. I tried to use it to write a letter in calligraphy with a fountain pen, but the ink kept skipping, and sometimes just beaded up on the surface of the paper. I ended up tossing the letter away. I tried the same pen and ink with other types of paper that I had handy, and it wrote beautifully - so the culprit is the paper.

This is a very nice quality, heavy weight stationary with a nice masculine look. I bought the matching envelopes that were suggested with it and have gotten compliments on them.

I bought this to write up some letters I wanted to look very old but elegant, and I am definitely pleased with the look. I am also glad the paper is printed with the old look on both side's.I would definitely recommend this for calligraphy or just writing some cute letters.

You can clearly tell that the product is printed. Now, I know that all stationary is printed but some companies just do a better job at having the details being more subtle.It's cute stationary and obviously useful for its intended purpose. When I run out, I think I'll just stick to aging my own paper for letter writing.

Liked that it really looks like authentic old time paper. I will write a note or letter to add to my cards . Sometimes you don't want to write right on the card itself.

I like the use of a black border, the lining, the art in the corners, and the sepia tint. Everything reminds me of a relative's old farm.
