Was a little chore to replace You have to transfer the old linkage to the new carb and one old bolt wouldn't work because the new carb was tapped to a smaller or metric? Other than that she's a runner Replaced on an older Craftsman Tiller

Used a a Craftsman/ Briggs and Stratton 5.5 hp tiller. The carb matched up well. You will need to reuse some of your old parts,screws, bolts etc. There are no directions so take photos b4 pulling your old carb and refer to your owners manual. Two of my original screws did not fit the carb so I had to dig thru my assortment to find a good fit. Spark plug needed a slight gap adjustment.

This 498298 Carburetor resurrected my rototiller and has it running like a champ. Good quality manufacture. The fuel filter that came with this kit is unneeded, since the carburetor bolts to the gas tank and draws directly from it.

Seems like excellent replacement part... Air filter fits..fuel filter supplied but not possible to use on this motor( carb bolted to fuel tank so unnecessary....) ...straight bolt on project, tiller runs great again ( old plastic choke lever on old carb was broke...new carb lever required me to remove the spring that holds choke in one setting as much too stiff but that's minor if you know carbs..just a small coil spring , remove with needle nose pliers..) ..overall happy with it..runs out good and idles excellent and low ( true test of a "good" replacement carb)

This carb bolted right in place and the tiller fired right up. Perfect fit.Only complaint is thst the metal body of the carb seems to be cheaper pot aluminum. I over tightened one of the mounting screws and cracked off a small piece. I easily remedied that with some JB weld. It was really my fault and should have been more careful. Once fixed, this carb ran great and was 1/3 cost of OEM.
