They get the job done but they are way too flimsy for my recipe box. very thin paper not even like a cardstock

These are just what I was looking for. There are actually a ton of dividers, more sections than I might use. I do wish the set came with a few blank dividers so if I had a need for a section they didn’t include (I prefer to break up my salad and salad dressing recipes) I could do that easily.Otherwise - these dividers cover all the sections of cooking your recipe box needs, and more!

I know most people keep their recipes on computer these days and I do print out my recipe cards if I feel like it. But, I'm old fashioned and love my recipe box. Plus, at times I deal with some serious power outages and can't get to my favorite grilling recipes if I need them when the power is out. It's also a one stop shop for all my favorite recipes scattered through my cookbook library. I've used online recipes and went back to them online consistently but, I've had them disappear off the websites. So, I keep a box. I remember my Grandmother's box with stained cards well used and I'm happy to have gotten it along with her grandmother's cast iron. Surprise! These index cards have extras. The set includes 24 cards and on the front of each card are tips, cooking tips, preserving tips, lists of what wines to serve with different foods, substitutions, candy making tips, a substitution chart for casserole pans, a card for cooking info (which I really like because it allows me to put in some of the methods I like to use), meat roasting times, party tips, timing for pasta and rice, pastry tips, freezing and canning tips. So, before I start the 4th of July cooking here I thought I'd sit down and start re-sorting my box and putting the covers on the cards. If you are looking for these types of cards, I'd go for these!

Shopping for divider cards after years of using the old ones was a price shock. These were much more reasonable than most so I bit the bullet. As it turns out each card has useful information such as temperatures for meat and candy, terms, ingredient substitutions and even pan substitutions. Ever wonder how much fruit to buy when your recipe calls for 3 cups?. The cards have that kind of information and even definitions for many cooking terms.. The cards are almost as good as the old 50s cookbooks that had pages of supplemental information and which you rarely find in today's books.I would say this set is worth the price I paid and it was less expensive than most. I would much rather have a monotone reference set than a cutesy blue duck. In my opinion, you can go wrong with this item..in fact if you have any plan to use recipe boxes in the future you might want to order because it appears recipe box supplies are on their way to extinction.

I was given a cool recipe card holder when I was married almost 33 years ago, and the box has held up well. I can't say the same for the 4x6 dividers that were included. This set is perfect. It gave me many more sections (soups, bar-b-que etc) so I can easily find the recipe I need. It also includes tips, ingredient substitutions and measurements that are very handy. Now my recipe box is more organized and as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside.
