Item came with black smudges all over the base, most came off with rubbing alcohol but a few stains did not come off.

Came packaged very well.....no shipping damage at all. I was surprised honestly. I did not bury the vinyl post. I used the exsisting 4x4 post and and trimmed the bottom of the new vinyl post in order to meet the standard height requirement set by the USPS. I added a few screws at the very bottom through the vinyl into the 4x4 which ended up being covered by the supplied decorative bottom piece. This thing is rock solid. I would recommend this product all day long. I would recommend adding some adhesive to the caps. They are snug from the factory however I fear in a really bad wind storm they may be lost. Thanks for the great product made here in the USA.

Ok... I LOVE how my new mailbox looks, it's soooo pretty and really stands out.( FYI: This mailbox kit does not come with address numbers, I ordered the plaque separate)But a few pointers! This is absolutely a 2 person job, assembly would have been much easier with 2 people, but it's not impossible because I did it alone. Just takes a little longer. I do love that it's vinyl and not wood so it won't dry rott....BUT I live in the land of the hurricanes and I'm not exactly confident this will make it through too many storms. I followed the instructions exactly and even watched additional YouTube videos to make sure I was installing it correctly and it just didn't feel like the concrete mix really adhered to the vinyl. It has been in the ground for a month now and it's still a bit wobbly. So my suggestion would be to go a little deeper than 2 ft into the ground and maybe add a little additional concrete than what is called for. One thing that I thought of too late was adding a piece of wood inside the vinyl post because it is hollow... That would have made a difference. But you can't beat the aesthetics for the price! I really do love it and hope it lasts for a long time!

The black decoration piece is plastic, but looks like metal. Very nice.
