Nice little pulleys, but they don't fit 8mm rope, as the description claims. Maybe 1/4" max. I returned them unused since they were too small.

Problem 1: The dimensions are not as advertised. The thickness of the sheave is 9.1 mm, not the 11 mm shown. The groove in the sheave that the rope runs in is 6 mm. So there’s no way that 8 mm (5/16”) rope is going to fit in this. It would have trouble with ¼” rope.Problem 2: The sheaves don’t turn smoothly in some blocks.

I needed to mount these sideways (cheek mount) on my kayak in order to redirect the steering cable to the foot pegs. The top loop is easily detached, through which I added a spacer, and then a bolt through the hole and the spacer. Worked out beautifully.

It will probably work well for my anchor trolley on our kayaks, but anything heavier duty they would certainly not work.
