The sanding pads did not fit my mouse--I'm not sure if newer models are bigger, but it was significantly too large for my model. I was able to trim them with just scissors, using the sander as a guide and they are now functional (last photo). They do provide a nice cushion for the sandpaper, so gentle curves are easier to cover as it distributes pressure gently across more surface area. It may also help prevent going through veneer, since it reduces direct pressure from the sander. The velcro is strong and the pad sticks well to the sander. I have used it for one project and it's nowhere near worn out, so the durability also seems to be good.

Pictured is my Black + Decker Mouse sander with one of the pads on and a piece of sandpaper on top. As you may or may not be able to see, the pad is larger than both the surface of the sander and the sandpaper. There is a good 1cm extra (all of which I put towards the rear and lined up the pointed edges as well as I could). What I find even more frustrating is that not a single hole of the pad corresponds with any of the dust collection holes of the sander. You will need to make your own holes to match which makes for a rather hole-y pad. You could also cut the pad to fit the sander more closely, but I found that wasn't needed. If you get beyond the sizing/hole issues, the pads work well, providing a bit of extra cushioning for if you press harder than when you should when sanding (which I find I do especially when using the tip trying to get into those extra small areas, and that is where I find the most benefit of these pads). The hook and loop sticks well to the bottom of the sander and the sand paper sticks well to the pad, so no problems there.
