They’re perfect for so many uses but especially for the center of a paper pieced wreath that can be made using the blocks in this book.

Carol Doak's quilt block designs are SO beautiful! I was very happy to be able to download the digital version via my Kindle app on my laptop! It makes printing the patterns SO easy! What a great buy!

I am a huge fan of Carol Doak's books. I own every one of her books. I am a quilter and do almost exclusively paper piecing AND don't do many large quilts anymore so this is a perfect book for me. All the blocks are three inches and Carol has done a great job of giving cutting instructions which not all paper piecer's do. I've made several of the blocks since receiving this book and am thrilled with the simplicity of them. For people purchasing this book as a gift-when you're making these little blocks and they have a lot of seams they tend to be very bulky and hard to quilt so these blocks are perfect! The instructions are simple and easy to follow as paper piecing can be somewhat confusing when you first try it. After that it is addicting and you can't put it down.The only negative that I can find is that there is no CD with this book that you could load on your computer to work in conjunction with the CD's from Carol's other books. That way you could adjust the size of the block to fit your need or project. All in all, it's a great little book with hours of fun for you!

I was lucky enough to have taken a class from Carol Doak, so I have not really looked at her instructions for paper-piecing in any of the gazillion and two books of hers that I have. I decided to look at this book from the paper-piecing novice's point of view. I have to say, this is a great place to start if you have never done paper-piecing. The blocks look complex, but they do not use a lot of pieces. The instructions are very clear, easy to follow, and accompanied by great photos. The book is well organized and answers the questions and concerns that someone might have with his/her first paper-piecing experience. So, whether you've been wanting to try paper-piecing for the first time, or are a seasoned pro looking for some fun new blocks to make, I highly recommend this book.
