A strong sickening chemical odor filled the room after installation of only a few of these pegs. Guessing it's from the "silicone" sleeve but not sure. They also had some kind of greasy residue and I had to wash my hands after handling. I uninstalled the pegs and put them outside overnight. After one full day they still smell bad. I will leave them outside for a few days to see if they off-gas. If not, I will return them. Project delayed.

I can only assume this product is frequently returned because people buy the wrong size, so make sure you know what size you need! I was sick of the plastic shelf pins falling out and everything falling out of my medicine cabinet like I’m in a bad infomercial. These things are sturdy and stay in! They’re not the most *aesthetic* but what can you do. It’s a nickel bracket for a medicine cabinet and it looks much better than slanted shelves and fallen bottles. Great price compared to the hardware store as well.

the nub that goes into the hole is very short and tends to shift despite drilling the hole very tight.

After buying plastic shelf brackets and pegs to replace many broken ones and being disappointed I turned my search towards finding more sturdy brackets. Who would think plastic bracket pegs would be ideal for shelf support anyway?? I turned to the metal ones and ordered the wrong size (1/4") the first time and unfortunately waited too long to return them for any credit. I found these and was determined to try them and quickly see if they fit or not so I could return them if not. Aha!! They worked! I'm now in the process of replacing ALL of the plastic brackets the builder installed to use these babies instead! I am so pleased with them and they are so much more sturdy and reliable.The only drawback I've noticed with these however is they are slightly "thick" meaning your shelf may be too wide to sit down into the peg. The solution to this though works for me and may work for you. I turn all 4 bracket pegs upside down and let the shelf then "sit or rest" on top of the peg bottoms. Does this make sense? If not, just try this: put 4 brackets in for one shelf (but don't put the shelf in yet), look at how that looks and imagine placing the shelf on top of the ledges. THEN try it the other way. Turn each bracket so that the ledge is upside down and imagine placing the shelf on top of them while they are turned that way. Ta-Da! Same solution, its still a shelf, it just has a different height measurement for your shelves once shelves are installed. I'm super pleased with how strong these are and how good they look. It gives me much more confidence having my glassware, china/porcelain dishes, mugs, and whatever else resting on shelves that are supported by strong metal supports rather than those dinky plastic ones.I now can't understand why I didn't search for these sooner and why I even ever put my trust for my nice dishes on shelves that only were supported by lightweight plastic shelf brackets. I consider myself very lucky that I avoided disaster with most of them before now. After getting over the surprise of having a shelf fall and having everything come crashing down making a mess we then aren't really shocked when we see the broken snapped plastic support bracket knowing it's clearly not strong enough to support anything of any weight in the first place! I'm SUPER HAPPY with these metal shelf brackets!

Plastic pegs in 20 year old cupboards beginning to break. These ones will outlast me and the cupboards. They fit perfect and are very strong. Pleasantly surprised.

These pegs are just what I needed to complete my project. I love the fact that they have a protective sleeve so as to not damage the wood. They are nice and strong, not that my shelves are heavy but if I needed a strong shelf peg, these would be perfect

These are well made but they didn't fit. And neither did the next size. One is too big and one is too small for my antique curio shelf. But never fear. That's why we have drills! I, fearless little old super grandma, shall make them work!

The posts were just a little long for the melamine side brackets I had purchased from Home Depot. I could have drilled the relevant holes out but used as is. Seemed to work fine.
