PRODUCT SPECIFICATION

Flange nuts have a washer-like base to distribute pressure over a greater surface area and ensure the fastener stay tight. They are commonly used in manufacturing assembly lines where operations are speeded by using a single fastener instead of a nut and washer. Made of 18-8 stainless steel, these flange nuts have good chemical resistance.

Used these on my pool, to connect the above-ground pool steel wall together. I bought the pool used and old nuts were corroded. I used these and it looks great and so far after one season, the paint has not chipped off and they are holding strong. The serrations really lock the nut on and so far they have held tight.

I needed some stainless steel serrated flange nuts so I bought these. Care if they were black or silver. I just wanted stainless steel of moderate strength. I'm not sure how strong these are but they certainly are stainless steel they indicate 304. I don't know why so many of the fasteners being sold on Amazon are now black. Nor do I know what the black coating is. Clearly is not paint. It is some kind of chemical process to produce the black coating so I assume it will last.

These are indeed stainless steel with a black oxide coating on them. They are NOT magnetic which indicates quality stainless steel. I submersed these into a bath of salt water for a week and they did not show any signs of rust. And yes they would rust through the black oxide coating if they were carbon steel. The bolts are machined perfectly with clean threads. I’m using these to re-build a hose cart with all stainless steel hardware. Pairing them with 1/4-20 bolts. These nuts will be great because I won’t need a washer when securing the parts. Very good quality and recommended.

These nuts go well with the bolts of the same material and finish. They are exactly as described.

These are well made, similar to other flange nuts, but I got them for the nice black finish. The finish is pretty shiny and is uniform. These are useful where you want something aesthetically attractive as well as functional.

These flanged nuts are very nicely painted and the paint does not interfere with their threads. I checked them on two different thread checkers and used them to attch some table legs, all with no issues hand threading them. The nuts are stamped with a logo (Wensilon's logo) and '304' which is the stainless grade (rust resistent if the paint scrapes off). There is no mention of the strength grade, but another Wensilon made nut I got was stamped the same way, but the pics in the ad for those had A2-70 stamped on them, so something to keep in mind. These nuts must have a low iron content as they are barely reactive to a 25lb pull strength neodymium magnet. These would be good for light to medium loads where aesthetics are a factor, or for the locking style flange for extra anti-loosening security with the bonus of a built in washer.

The nuts are flawlessly formed and machined with clean threads and an attractive, good quality black oxide finish. Test threading of 8 of the nuts onto a machine screw was smooth in all cases. Testing with a magnet resulted in no magnetic attraction, as would be expected with 304 (18-8) stainless steel hardware (the nuts are marked "304").Pictured is one of the nuts threaded onto a black oxide cap screw I'm also reviewing. The black oxide finish, which is bonded during a chemical treatment (it is not paint), affords a durable, attractive professional look. I've been using black oxide stainless steel hardware on projects below deck on a saltwater sailboat for about 15 years and I find good quality fasteners (there is some junk out there) look just as good after a decade as they did the day they were installed. In contrast painted mild steel fasteners almost inevitably develop light corrosion, or worse, after a few years.

Nice quality locknuts. I greatly prefer these to using a lockwasher whenever possible - they look and feel so much more professional, and they're also more secure. These nuts are a bit on the thin side, but that's not really a complaint since some applications may require that for clearance. The black finish is a nice unique touch - these look so much better than your run-of-the-mill hardware store zinc-plated stuff.
