This is an excellent light fixture for our leopard gecko. Much better than the silver aluminum heat lamp fixtures of the olden days. The metal is nice and thick. Most importantly the thermostat control is awesome. It is really easy to set the temperature (once you read the instructions) and we can watch it actively adjust the brightness of the lamp based on the temperature at the probe. We did discover that placement of the probe makes a big difference. But we ended up doing was putting the probe in the center of the basking spot temporarily to get the correct temperature there, taking notes of the lights intensity, then we moved it off to the side of the basking spot still in the light, and adjusted the temperature accordingly so that it maintains the same intensity as when it was in the basking spot. Using a temperature probe we have found the thermostat to be very accurate. Now that we've been using it, I wish it had a built-in timer to turn it on and off at the same time every day, but that is not advertised, so there is not fault of the product.

This lamp has a clean design and feels high-quality. Most of the metal components are made from thickened aluminum, and the ceramic lamp socket provides excellent heat resistance. It features a dimming thermostat that regulates heat output by adjusting power input. A built-in control panel with an LCD display allows users to set different temperatures for day and night. The temperature controller includes a high-precision sensor that continuously monitors real-time temperature and adjusts accordingly to maintain the set level.Although I’m not using this fixture for animals in captivity, I do use high-wattage (120–150W) corn bulbs to illuminate my backyard, ensuring safety for my daughters and our dogs after sunset. These bulbs produce significant heat and even include built-in fans for cooling, so the ceramic socket in this lamp gives me added peace of mind.I’ll need more time to assess its long-term durability and reliability. If any issues arise, I’ll update my review. For now, even though I’m not using it for its intended purpose, it’s performing well—and I’m happy to recommend it.

Got this for my step daughter's future leopard gecko. It's not for light, just the basking spot only. It works well and is very high quality.

i really like the look of this, sleek, black & clean looking. nice upgrade from my old mismatched & dusty fixtures that honestly, were probably due for an upgrade a year ago.at first i thought it was inaccurate & running too hot. my trust hydrometer / thermometer that is in there was showing 90° when i had it set to 85° for the warm side. but i had the temperature probe placed on the glass, a good foot away from where i keep my hydrometer/ thermometer. so i detached the probe from the glass and place it directly on top of the thermometer/ hydrometer & now it’s reading consistently with my thermometer.so food for thought, if you suction it to the glass wall of the enclosure away from the bulb, you’re going to have a hot spot directly under the CHE that’s actually warmer than the ambient air temperature. this may be obvious, but it’s worth pointing out so your reptile doesn’t get burned. some reptiles cannot sense & will not move off a hot rock or basking area.i have since left the probe close to the hydrometer so that i can get accurate readings between the two. i have another one of these fixture on the cooler side of the tank, and i also have another hydrometer over there to monitor the temp on the cool side. that probe, i was able to leave on the wall, and it reads the same temp as my thermometer. probably because they are down lower. my thermometer on the other side is elevated about half way up.a con would be the programming on the remote. it took several times for the “set” button to register i was long pressing it. the instructions say to long press for 3 second but i held it multiple times for 10 or so seconds and didnt get a response. again, i have another version of this product from the same company, and that one has a worse issue when it comes to the remotes responsiveness. i’m guessing a quality control issue with the components inside. however once you manage to get them programmed, then they work as expected & so far i am getting accurate readings. i haven’t been able to change adjust the second one after the first initial setup- due to the programming issue, but thankfully i haven’t had to adjust it yet. when i do, i can imagine i’ll have issues.the sizes are great respectfully. exactly what you’d expect when looking for a reptile element fixture.i’ve only had them a few days so i can’t speak on lifespan, but these types of things tend to last very long so i’m not really worried.
