This fit so good on my jacket!! I'm super impressed. Highly recommend this if you need body armor for your spring motorcycle jacket for sure!!!

These fit well in my riding jacket that has outlasted the original body armor components. I don’t know how well they work in a crash situation, and hope to never find out!

They don't really fit right for my Joe Rocket jacket. They are flat so don't form to the shoulder and elbows like they should.

Viking no longer makes the jackets and the inserts in them crumbled. I've had this jacket for several years and didn't want to stop using it for riding. These inserts worked perfectly for the elbows. A little long to fit into the shoulders but they are easy to trim to fit into the sleeve pockets to replace the foam. They seem as strong as the original padding.

These pads are nowhere near the right shape or thickness to properly replace joe rocket jacket padding; can’t speak for other brands, but they are a poor substitute for the JR OEM armor. These are barely 1/4 the thickness of the originals. While they may technically absorb the same impact energy as the originals (which I doubt), they are not even close to the size or thickness of the originals. Can these be jammed into the armor pockets of the JR jackets? Sure, but the reduced thickness also makes the jacket look saggy and ‘frumpy’ as well. On top of that, the kit I received had the wrong quantity of items in it. Instead of 1 back piece, 2 elbows & 2 shoulders, I got 1 back piece, 3 elbows & 1 shoulder. Overall, almost worthless.Edit - After originally posting this review as a "1-star", I was contacted by the vendor, who wanted some more details of what my problems were with the product. I replied, giving them a few more small details, but my description in the review was pretty clear. I'm surprised that others have used these armor pads in Joe Rocket jackets without issue; perhaps different pad styles are within the JR product line? The vendors next response was to tell me that they were issuing a full refund of my purchase price. I didn't ask for a refund, mainly because I didn't feel like packaging the item back for return, PLUS I had made the pads 'un-returnable" by trimming them with scissors in an effort to make them work. But they didn't ask for the items back, they just simply issued a refund because I wasn't happy with the item.... no arguments. While I stand by my description of these pads as not being acceptable for use in (at least some) Joe Rocket jackets, I am changing my 'star' rating to a '5' simply because of the customer service. I can occasionally deal with a product that doesn't live up to expectations (it's just a reality in commerce), but good customer service is more valuable in my opinion. While this particular product wasn't suitable for what I needed, I wouldn't hesitate to buy other products from this vendor in the future. Thanks Jackets 4 Bikes.

Pros:Arms and shoulders fit as expected. Foam seems similar in quality to oem. It will likely do its job in a wreck.Cons:I luckily had a good back pad still. This back pad is thinner than the other parts, small, will not protect in a wreck. I knew this would probably be the case buying this, as the price is right for the arms and shoulders. If you are looking for a back pad specifically, look elsewhere. Due to the size and how it needs to be made, this component will likely be costly.Bonus:I used the back pad as extra padding in my backpack for my laptop. Works great for that!

Very happy with the fit for the shoulders and elbows, back pad is smaller than the original. For the price you can’t go wrong and better than nothing at all.

Product seems expensive compared to what we are receiving. There are quality issues in the foam, cuts and thick padding. The foam is half the size of what the jacket originally had. I haven’t personally tested the product on the reliability; but can confirm it isn’t certified by CE as level 1 or level 2. For simple city rides and slow speed crashes it might be good I guess. No offence to seller they haven’t claimed any certification so we get what we asked for. Thanks Amazon for expediting delivery.

I'm giving this 5 stars because I think it's a good deal for the price but read on.So I put on my mesh jacket a week or so ago and my elbow protectors were down in the cuffs. Further inspection showed that they had disintegrated and that my shoulder ones were on the way out too. I went back and forth on several of the items on this site but ultimately chose this one. So here's the deal:First off, these are made of foam like you might find in a yoga mat or what campers would call a carrymat. Two bonded layers, a thick yellow one and a thinner black one. I believe these are cut from a flat piece of this material and the shaping and contouring is done with some kind of heat press. My original shoulder and elbow pads were some kind of molded rubber. They look like they would offer better protection than these but handling both at the same time, it seems like they would probably be about the same.Next up, not a single one of the ventilation holes was unobstructed. Given that for me, this is for in a mesh jacket, not a huge deal but if the holes are important to you, be aware you may be spending some time doing some remedial work. I actually chose this over another because that didn't have holes in the back protector so not so good. With respect to fitment, I had to trim a fair bit off the shoulder pads at the top and bottom (better too large than too small) but the elbow pads fit fine with a little bit of work. The back protector was smaller than my original which was made of the same material and had 1/2" ventilation holes but was still in good condition so I left it in place. I'll throw this one in a closet in case I can find a use for it sometime down the road.So for keeping a well-loved jacket in service, not a bad deal. But I think given the choice again, I would pay a little more and get some more like my original ones.
