These work. They will remove any and all rust. However, they wear out faster than traditional flap discs so if you have a big job like an entire metal staircase, I would suggest flap discs. These get the job done fast though. It all depends on your project and budget.

Using these to strip a 55 Chevy during a rebuild. Works very well with no metal damage and are wearing better than I expected them to. Great for stripping the old paint and cleaning up rust areas. Can be expensive, but were a good price comparatively here.

I recently used this on a project car I'm working on. I have used a similar product from a local Canadian parts store that sells tires (hint hint) and they charge $15 for a single wheel, that lasted less long than these.I had to strip some old rubber undercoating that was in a wheel well on my car. After I had used an air scraper to take the bulk of it off, I used these disks to strip the minor leftover residue as well as old paint and rust. This stripped it down to bare metal so much faster and safer than if I had used a wire wheel or anything else.It does wear down pretty quick, however I am using it excessively and at the cost of these disks in this 5 pack I see these as a straight up consumable item and totally worth it at this price point.I will be buying more of these as I keep working on this car.I highly recommend these, don't waste your money on the more expensive brand name similar wheels.

Fits small angle grinder with washer backing the spindle.Good for surface rust removal to light metal rust pitting on thicker metal body panels ( 1950 s pickups) but really great for removal of old body filler.These seem to last well only used one for pickup cab inside and outside surfaces.

I wanted something less abrasive and longer lasting than the standard flap disk to prep metal for TIG welding. I also wanted something easier to use than a wire wheel. If you TIG weld, you know how important prep is. These looked really funky, but the reviews were OK, so I figured what the heck.What the heck! These discs are amazing! They'll take the scale off hot rolled steel faster than a wire wheel and better than a flap disc. They remove rust from old steel just as good, and they last a heck of a lot longer than a flap disc, too. Lastly, though these discs make quick work out of prepping metal, they're not nearly as abrasive: fewer sparks and very shiny results. If you actually need to smooth out pits and scratches, you'll need to use a grinding disc first.Just for the heck of it, I tried using these discs to take old paint off my very old wooden garage door. It generated a lot of dust - and some very clean wood. I'm actually looking forward to finishing the job in the spring once the snow is gone.

These disks work great with my grinder. Paint and rust buffed off fast, easy and left a smooth metal finish with no scratches using light pressure

I'm grinding out the paint (and a layer of gel coat) from the bottom of my boat. (12 ft. aluminum) with a standard grinder. The wire brush type wheels barely touched it. This type wheel works better, but its still work. the 5 disc pack will probably take all five to finish. They work pretty good and hold up pretty good.The hole sized didn't fit my arbor. They are larger by about 1/4". they center up from centrifugal force so it wasn't a problem. Just check your arbor before buying.

These are much better than bigbox brands. They are much cheaper too.I used 2x $15 disks from Lowe’s that didn’t do 1/4 the job that one of these disks did.I don’t know why they are better aside from they cost much less. But they work much better.

It does a fine job revoming the paint, however (I'm guessing it's just me from pushing down hard), it wears down moderately as suspected, but it depends on your hand pressing down on it. I didnt want to use paint stripper gel and make a whole mess in my garage so I purchased this. So far it's looking good.

These things are great. I use then to clean and prep aluminum piping for paint. Last a good while, just wear at the minimum safety glasses because they so let off some hurty peices while grinding.

They work like a charm, but don't last long. I went through all 5 in about 30 minutes grinding away deep penetrating rust on a school bus.
