This SS steering wheel seems to be of sturdy construction. It's smooth at all points, and includes two of the most common center covers.On the rail behind the knob, you can see where the bolt was welded then ground down and polished. You wouldn't notice or feel it unless you were specifically looking for it.When unboxing, I immediately tried the knob to see how free it turned. It was too tight for my preference, so I popped the plastic cover off and loosened that locknut until the knob was free enough, and reinserted the plastic cover. It now is as smooth as I am used to.I'll install this steering wheel on my boat the next time I take it out of the water for maintenance. I don't expect any issues.
