So the tippers, in general, are ok.That said, there are some things to note if considering these. One is that you do not get the tippers shown in the photo. I have included a photo, with a standard Hal Leonard style tipper for reference at the bottom. The tippers on offer appear much more slender and lighter than what you actually get.Three of the tippers, in particular, are very large and heavy and would only be suitable for playing in a parade, or other outside situation, where you want to play *very* loudly. I am going to try and put them on my lathe to slim them down and see if they can be salvaged, but at least half of these are unusable in their current state.Additionally, I am pretty sure they are not all rosewood. The difference in density, weight and colour between them is pretty clear evidence that they are not all the same. Anyway, I do like the straight stick one, but I could have got a piece of dowel from the hardware store and had a better, lighter version in minutes with a little sanding, for basically pennies. The only one I really like the feel of, good length and weight, is the one on the bottom, just above the sample.So yeah, I am not going to send them back, but if I were not a woodworker I think I would.Edited to add that, after a bit of time to give it a good try, the bottom-most of the tippers has become my go-to for jigs and hornpipes.I like a fast, light tipper for reels, which was what I actually hoped to get when I first bought these, and a heavier one for jigs. I didn't get what I originally wanted, but I did get a very nice surprise! This feels really good. Nice, thumpy tone, great length, perfect balance, and after sanding it down and buffing with a beeswax finish it also looks nicer and feels much better in the hand. The slick poly finish isn't good for something you need to keep a grip on, so do sand it off if you get these. Even unfinished, just letting the natural oils in your skin do the job, it's better than slippery.I added two stars to the review on the strength of this tipper :)
