It works and helps but is cheap metal and broke after dropping it once.

This stud layout tool is lightweight yet strong enough to do the job. It worked perfectly to frame the walls and rafters for the greenhouse we built. We used it both for building walls on the ground before raising them and for framing the walls in place. Everything came together quicker and more square than if we had used a measuring tape and traditional framing square. It is also super nice to have multiple measurements available on one tool. Would recommend this tool.

I own 3 of theses 12, 16, 24 framer tools and it is nice that this does the work of those three framers All in one tool. The extra of 14,18 and 20 while I doubt I will ever have to use those measurements it is a good bonus to have. This tool saves time you no longer have to measure with a tape measure this will center your studs every time. I highly recommend this tool
