I needed to replace 4 gutter guards in the roof leaders. These are comparable to those sold at home centers. Overall they are very similar in the type of material and size.

I remember my dad sending me to the hardware store to buy 'squirrel cages' for our downspouts while he cleaned the gutters on our home. He gave me a quarter and said I could have the change. Those cost a nickel apiece back in the 1950's.Today these cost about two bucks apiece but won't rust like the old ones did and these are moldable to fit different size downspouts.Installing these at the mouth of each downspout will keep leaves and debris from clogging your downspouts. Since you get six of these, if you get one clogged you should have a spare to quickly swap a new one in and then clean up the one you just took out.Without these, your gutters get clogged and the water won't empty and then the water fills the gutters and the gutters come crashing down. How do I know that? The man that lived next door to us back then laughed at my dad for putting these in and then the man's gutters clogged and fell in a big rainstorm.
