I ordered these for a friend for a cat toy. He doesn't want anything that the cat can tear up and certainly not potentially swallow something she shouldn't. These make a delightful sound and the cat loves batting them around!

The wood is nice, but the shaker was too quiet for our purposes, which is to use playing with acoustic guitar, voices, and cajon.

I purchased 24 shaker eggs for a choral performance. My principal couldn’t hear the sound. It’s possibly good for classroom use only, not for a performance.

These music eggs look and feel very nice, but know the sound is muted. They are not as loud as the plastic shakers, so it just depends on what sound you’re looking for.

I bought these egg shakers to give to my 9 month old, who loves to shake and rattle and bang everything he can. I was most concerned that they be sturdy and safe for him to play with, though sound and aesthetics mattered, too. Luckily, these egg shakers deliver on all fronts. They are lovely, pleasant to hold, and make a great sound. They seem absolutely sturdy as well (I’ll update this review if that changes). My baby loves to play with them, and I look forward to making music with him for years to come.

The eggs are high quality. I looked at others that were plastic, but the reviews said people had problems with them falling apart at the seam. These are wooden and I don’t see where it would be possible for them to break. They are also a little quieter than the plastic version, which is a great when you have a 2 year old shaking them!

These are wood (not plastic--great for the environment), smooth, polished and attractive. They make a good rhythm egg sound. They are not super-loud, but loud enough for non-professional musical use. (They could be used professionally with a microphone.) I gave them as holiday gifts to my music students--very good value for money.
