These aluminum flat plates are made of 6061 aluminum, which has good strength and smooth texture. The features of lightweight and neat cuts make the general purpose aluminum flat bar a great piece of crafting material. Our heat treatable T6 solid new mill stock is widely used in some industrial structural parts. It's unclear in the description whether these are imperial or metric. Imperial is listed first but it's definitely not. These are 6mm thick and 25mm wide which screws up our machining.

I place a strip of aluminum under the wood parts of my rockers that contact the floor/s.This prevents them from becoming out of shape as well as ensuring the rocker/s will remain in their original shape.These are really too "stiff." I should have ordered the 1/8" thickness & longer length.Not a total loss, as I'll find a use for them in my shop.

Once in a while, you can use these for some odd task. In my case, using them to stabilize a work piece in a bench vise. They are cut pieces of aluminum bar stock. Not much else to be said.
