These are necessary tools for anyone looking to know the proper bore size of a hole. These spring out and lock in place with a set screw. Then you can measure the dimension with a caliper. They are different sizes and adjustable for a variety of hole sizes. The spring is firm to give you a confident measurement. Rock solid basic case to keep them organized and in good condition. The handles are between ~4-6” to give you some reach. They came coated in preservation oil to keep them from rusting. I imagine they’ll get some use to come!

This is a very impressive ID gauge set, especially for the great price. The most important aspect of an ID gauge is that it firmly locks down an ID measurement. The clamping mechanism is firm and solidly locks down the T-arms not only across their distance (bore ID), but also laterally (wiggle) so this distance can be accurately measured with a micrometer or caliper.
