Safety Eyes are necessary for toys for children. The only think a user needs to know is that a needle nose plier is needed to completely adhere the back to the eye; otherwise, the eyes are no longer safe. Once they are properly installed, all is right with the toy and for the child.

The eyes are ok. Some of them have a little extra plastic, I guess they're made in a mold, but that can be easily trimmed or filed. I opened one of the packages and the second one I took out the post was crooked. Still that's no problem. My problem are the washers/backing because they are too flimsy. Safety eyes are called safety eyes because they need to stay in place. I've made mistakes previously with other safety eyes and have had to cut them off with tools and lost the eye I was using. To my surprise I was able to easily pull the washer off the eye with regular tweezers and when I attached it to a crocheted piece I was able to rip it off without a lot of effort. Now that's a concern. Usually a small child will not try to rip off the eyes of a doll, but to be on the safe side I'm going to have to use these with other washers I have to make sure they're really secured to my dolls.

These eyes are a nice hard plastic with a good shine on them. They are easy to install on my bears and they have a firm fit.

I needed a bunch of 14mm safety eyes for some projects I was working on. For a bit more, I was able to save in the long run than buying 2-3 pairs at a go. The eyes are of good quality and work just as good. Additionally, they came in 5 different resealable bags. This meant that I didn't have to accommodate a large pouch in my crochet kit, but could carry enough to finish a number of projects while on the go.
