Good quality material but awful to use. At 18mm wide angle shots, creates vignetting effects.Not recommended for wide angle lenses.

While I love my Olympus PRO lenses, the one thing that has always annoyed me about them is their fragile, ridiculously over-engineered hoods that frequently fall off whenever I accidentally bump the release button, which happens a lot when the camera is hanging on my side while walking or hiking. Those hoods are also very expensive to replace.I just wanted a simple, durable hood that won't easily fall off or break if I drop it. This fits the bill perfectly. It's made out of metal instead of cheap plastic, and once I screw it onto my lens I never need to worry about accidentally knocking it loose, and the price is easily 1/6 of what I would have to pay for an original replacement.I love this so much that I'm getting ready to order one for each of my lenses.
