Seller states it is universal and that it replaces p/n 3852029 for my 1998 5.0 Volvo Penta 8 cyl engine. I bought it and installed it. It consistently was reading 25 degrees too high. I proved it was this sending unit by going to a genuine Volvo dealer and buying a p/n 3852029. After installing it temperature read perfect.Bottom line is that this unit is not interchangeable with p/ 3852029 sending unit; at least not on Volvo Penta 5.0 1998.

This is an OEM replacement for MasterCraft boats using the 351 Windsor Ford engine, which was most of them for a long time. Saved $20 over inboard boat supply retailers and it was delivered in a couple of days. Great part and transaction. I go through these things like M&Ms for some reason, so I really should have ordered a few of them...
