Drove CJ7 for a year, my readings on the gauge were off and I was unable to utilize a whole tank of gas.. I just dropped tank to adjust ohms, I was unable to, non adjustable, I tried by cutting plastic stop, but the tank stops the float from going any higher.. I have to live with full tank saying it’s only 3/4 on the gauge.. Because it would run out of gas with 6 gallons remaining in the tank, I added a 5/16” 5” extension to the pick up, then got a connector to attach filter.. I do not recommend this sending unit, I wish I spent a little more and got an adjustable one with a longer pickup tube..

The fuel pickup on this unit is two inch shorter the my stock one. This basically reduces the tank size and range of my jeep. The resistance is also not adjustable. It's a waste of money.
