Last summer, we had quite a few a blackouts. (NYSEG STINKS). Once at night while I was in the kitchen, another time in a windowless bathroom. And another time in the dining room late at night. Now knowing I have an unreliable electric supplier, I decided I need reach able flashlights in case it happens again. Having this many flashlights, I was able to put them around the house. These are perfect little flashlights to have on hand in case of a blackout.

Great value for the money!Aluminum case with on/off button in the base. The collar where the bulb is slides back and forth which changes the beam from a wide flood light to a narrow spot light. It's basically a 1:1 ratio (distance from object and beam width. Light held above table at a distance of one foot creates a one foot diameter beam on a flat surface. At 3ft the beam was about 3ft in diameter, etc.Great for the glove compartment/center console of the car, as well as important rooms in the house.Comes with a small attached strap for hanging or putting around the palm of your hand. For guys, it will not go over your hand and hang around your wrist. It may for women.Takes 3 AAA batteries (or special single battery, see details in the listing). You can get a box of the AAA's here on Amazon as well. We use the Amazon Basics Alkalines.There are 5 light settings. Press the button firmly to power on at the brightest solid flood light. Press lightly (so it goes off, but doesn't click) and it drops down to the next brightness level. A 3rd press drops it again to dim. A 4th press starts a quick strobe effect. A 5th press starts an SOS flash (3 short flashes, 3 long flashes, 3 more short flashes).Works great and will be a valuable addition to your household emergency kit.
