I am pleasantly surprised by and happy with the Racetech 85mm 3-3/8" GPS Speedometer Digital Odometer. The quality appears to be good, the unit is solid, and speedometer is relatively easy to install/turn on. Backlighting options are also a plus given the range of colors that can be selected (and make it easy to match other interior lighting/colors). I wired my speedometer directly to 12 volt male plug (for connection via the cigarette lighter; see pictures) and it always powers up and recalibrates to 0 within a few seconds. Also, you can get a feel for the size of the unit in comparison to my hand (170 lb male). When comparing the speed on the Racetech unit to the in dash speedometer of my car, there is a good degree of correlation/consistency. I expect disturbances in GPS signal could affect the speed readout periodically or affect accuracy (likely true for most GPS type units). Overall, I have had no issues with the speedometer operation while testing the Racetech unit. There are other comparable electronic speedos that are priced below the Racetech unit; however, the robustness of design and "old school" analog dial movement (very steady) make this unit a good buy and value for the money. Recommended if you are looking for a replacement speedometer/odometer combination.

Very large display Gauge, and super easy to install. Not so accurate at low speeds but gets more accurate at higher highway speeds, good for a vehicles with broken speedometers or custom vehicles.

I connected this unit so that it worked, and it connected quickly to GPS satellites. I proceeded to drive the car, and observe the speed on the Racetech unit vs the cars speedometer. Having tested the car's speedo repeatedly with GPS. I know it is accurate and consistent. When I was going 20. the Racetech said I was doing 40, 30 was 50 and 40 was 60! At first I thought it was set to do KPH, but I realized even then it was way off. If you want to think you are going fast in your boat, then this is for you! If you want an accurate speedo for your car, this is not it. On my way home, I used it again, thinking maybe the first run was a fluke. It did exactly the same thing. The ONLY thing that seemed to be accurate was the distance. I was planning to install this in a sailboat, and mileage was what I wanted it for. An accurate speedometer would also have been nice though. With the above results, I cannot recommend this unit. It is an extremely expensive odometer!

Very good speedo for just about any vehicle you wanna add it to. Depending on where you want to hook it up, you will need to buy the housing bracket and clamp of some sort for it. It's real straightforward and clean with some nice color options. Also has an odometer gauge so it's all you need for any project vehicle or as a good replacement for a motorcycle speedo. Alot of people do change their motorcycle speedos out for a gauge like this. Im having issues with my Harley speedo registering my speed at 25mph off and if I cannot get it fixed I will be putting this gauge onto my Harley as a replacement. I ziptied it to my handlebars and tested it out and it performed great. But im hoping my original speedo can be fixed so I can stick with what I got and keep this as a backup.

I have a problem. I have a Bronco with two sets of tires - one for fun and one to get to the fun. The problem is the speedo isn't calibrated for either set, so I never really know how fast or far I have gone. I am replacing all of the gauges and got rid of the single speedo/fuel/oil/temp deal. The manual speedo I installed had the same problem as the original: it only guessed my speed relative to the tire size. The instructions are very clear, and installation is as simple as any instrument I have changed EVER. The GPS sensor has a long lead and can be mounted either on the roll bar or roof. The gauge is ABS plastic - as are most gauges, and is held in place with a threated ring that goes behind the dash. The gauge lights up with the head lights, and you can choose what calming color to bathe your gear shift with! Very good value.

I have an old square body blazer, and I broke the speedometer ratio adapter that is on the transfer case. I figured this would be a quick temporary fix, and I could stop relying on my phone driving app for mph.Came with everything shown, not a bad looking speedometer. Was easy to wire up, put the gps module on the dash, and when I turned the truck on, it flashed ‘gps’ for about 30 seconds while it acquired a signal. After that, the led had a ‘0’ on it.Took it out for a quick spin, and I didn’t get any speed reading. I figured it was from my placement of the gps module, and since it comes with plenty of wire, i put it on the roof with some duct tape over the mounting point. Still didn’t get a reading.I’ll recheck the connections, try a few other placements and update later.

The speed is off a tad unfortunately, but it does look and work great! I will order it again when needed.
