While my original part for my TraneXb was Fasco’s 702112479, this fan was recommended as an ‘upgrade.’ It works fine as a drop in replacement but is noticeably louder (by about 5db) than the OEM. But it is 100.00 less expensive and was able to get to me within 2 days in my remote area. One of the things I enjoyed of my OEM fan was its whisper quiet operation. This fan has an audible hum, which, could be from lesser bearings/coil winding or resin glued (not fitted) stator pieces.It works, it spins, it does its thing—but you’ll know when it is as opposed to the 702112479 at 290.00.So my question is…what precisely is ‘upgraded’ about this item?
