I got 30 minutes use of moderate speed riding in my go kart and the first belt was destroyed. All the teeth but one set were ripped out in 1 to 2 inch sections and scattered throughout my sidecase and the threads were wrapped up in my pulleys. The belt had melted apart and disintegrated, which I find humorous(almost) as it was printed on the belt to be oil and heat resistant.Put the 2nd belt on, cleaned out all the rubber dust and reassembled everything. 10 minutes of light riding and the new belt smells like burning rubber. I let everything cool for an hour and tried again. Again within 10 minutes i could smell burning rubber so I rode it easy the rest of the way to my buddy's shop where it will have to sit overnight.Keep in mind my old belt was not totally bad, just had stretched a bit and was showing signs of dry rotting. I will be starting a return and slapping my old belt back on to drive my go kart home. I did see a Kevlar reinforced belt on here for around $25. Its the belt i'm buying next.*****UPDATE*****I was able to pull out of my buddy's garage and go half way around the garage and the second belt frayed and didn't work any longer. Had to get the quad to tow the kart back around and put my old dry rotted belt back on... I rode the heck out of it trying to shred my old belt... still going strong.
