I cut off 3 1/2 rings like some other reviews said. Works great.

Spring bends easy yet wont bend back. The spring fits poorly. I installed a GM spring in another column a few years ago and it went in fine with pushing it and guiding it around the corner. This one just bends and becomes deformed and wont go in place. If you knock out the pin to remove the arm this one might work. When I was trying to bend it back it made a sound that made me think it cracked. It does not seem like the same type of steel used in the ream GM springs.

Perfect fit for my 94 Chevy K1500 PU No cutting of spring was necessary.

This spring will work for the 2004 Suburban with the caveat that you have to trim the spring down to 8 coils. Installing a new spring in a 2004 suburban is a pain in the neck. it. My only advice is to use a small flat head to maneuver the lower side of the spring and something else to push the upper side of the spring. It will take lots of fiddling and possible profanities and/or a few guttural screams, however success will happen in a surprising flash.
