This is how all set up blocks should be designed. These are fantastic, easy to see and use. I LOVE the U shape cut out to set the table saw depth, brilliant! Flip'em, Flop'em, stand them on edge or lay them down, so easy to use and easy to read. I think they are perfect, no more guessing at settings. I'm very happy with these and the included case. Price was excellent as well. Five stars

Incredibly useful. This is one of those things that you don't think you need until you get it - then you can't understand how you ever got by without it. So much faster and easier than a ruler or micrometer, more accurate too.

These are a very versatile set of measurement blocks for setting up tools in one's shop. The set comes in an opaque plastic container with each block seated in a foam cradle and very well protected from each other. They are clearly marked in white against the bright red anodization, which will make them easy to locate in the shop.I put a caliper on a few of the blocks to test for accuracy. I stopped measuring once I saw a consistent error of between .002 and .005 of an inch. Although that doesn't meet the advertised precision, in my book, that is perfectly acceptable for their intended purpose, woodworking. But I wouldn't be using these in metalworking where tolerances are much stricter.I liked that the block has multiple points for measuring height and depth. I've seen these before that are not taking advantage of the thickness of the block, i.e. laying flat, this set is the same thickness as the measurement. One end has a taper with a scribed angle. In the more acute angles, I can see a use but as the angles get closer to 90 degrees the run is insufficient to be of any use. Another neat thing is that the block includes a decimal equivalent (rounded to 3 decimal positions) for the size of the block. You get 7 measuring blocks a little less than 6" long ranging from 1/8" to 1/2" in 1/16" increments. For measuring beyond 1/2", in special situations, you could stack them to get more height. An improvement to the set would have been to go to 3/4" but it is what it is. These a reasonably priced and will be a great addition to anyone's shop.

Let's start with what I think could use some improvement before I talk about what I like. The box. I never like bent-plastic hinges or latches. They don't last, especially in a shop. Give me snap together hinges or metal pins. I consider the box throw-away, which is sad, since it's a nice way to keep them all in order. Some of the angle gauges. So, the one end of the gauge is an angle gauge. The 90-degree angle is on a piece of metal that is 7/16" tall. That's really not useful. The 85-degree is the same. It starts getting bigger at 80-degrees. Did I expect these to replace my speed square? No, but they are small enough that I say "What's the point?" Other brands have the same but on a larger surface. What I do like:* It's a nice set of common sizes. The red is a good stand-out color so you can see them in the shop (and are less likely to forget them near the "danger zone" after adjusting a tool).* They are clearly painted (easy to read) on both sides. No having to peer around the back of the gauge.* A good solid feel. These should last a long time. Will the white paint? Time will tell.* As with this type of gauge, a lot of choices on what you're measuring. A gap, a height, a depth... many options.* The wide base makes it easy when setting your table saw. You can sit it on the blade guard without having to hold it in place.* There are holes in each so if you want to put these on a string or cable, you can -- just make it long enough to be able to use one of these by itself (without binding).Overall, it is a good gauge set, and I'm happy with it. I wish it had a *slightly* better box, but I'll live. And I'll largely ignore the angles less than 60-degrees.
