Ideal reusable tool for cookie decorating. I have a home-based cookie business, and these scribe tools are perfect to help spread and smooth royal icing. With a set of 8, there are plenty of scribes to have family or friends join in on the fun (or if they seem to disappear like my last scribe....wonder where it went). The plastic toolbox keeps everything together and neat in a drawer or cabinet and while you can get away with using toothpicks to do the same job, I've spilled one too many boxes of toothpicks making this set worth the expense in saved time and frustration. The plastic handles are ergonomic with indents for finger grip and decreasing the chance of your hand slipping or the tool rolling off your work surface. The pastel colors are nice and cheerful addition to my tools.

I love to take products and repurpose them for different uses, I know I'm not using these for their intended purpose, but still wanted to leave a review in case it helped someone else think 'outside the box' and use them for something they need besides cookie decorating.So I've been using these for sgraffito and for signing my name on the bottom of my pieces. The metal part is a longer than your regular pin/needle tool, but I just adjust my grip a little bit and it works great. The tip isn't as fine as a pin tool, so it leaves a bit of softer/wider mark, not as sharp. And you can't beat the price point, at .50 cents each it won't be a deal breaker if I lose one, and I'll have a replacement handy!
