This tool is a huge improvement over my use of a safety pin to restring hoodies or drawstring pjs. It makes i much easier to get the string threaded through pocket. I wish I had gotten one sooner.

The strings had broken in several garments (pajama bottoms, sweatpants, and some shorts). I tried several times using an oversized safety pin with no success. I had put these garments away until I could find some way to get a string back through the casings at waist of each one.When I saw this tool available, I had to try it out. This tool was so easy to manipulate the drawstrings through the casings. The flexibility made it quick to advance the string through the casing channel, manipulating the fabric sort of like a caterpillar.There were no instructions included, so I had to experiment for the best way to use this tool. The included strings have a metal grommet on each end, making it difficult to push the grommet through the casing if the grommet is at the leading edge. The grommet tends to catch the fabric and gets crossways.I found that looping the string through the larger end of the tool and using the small end of the tool as the lead to push the string through was the best way. By letting the grommet follow instead of lead, the grommet will stay parallel with the string and not get caught on the material. The loop on the tool is barely wide enough to get the grommet to pass through, so the string is secure and will not slide out during the process.The ends of strings can possibly be pulled back into the casing, so I tied a small knot at the ends of the metal grommets to make it more difficult to lose the string into the casing.
