12 oz may seem small, and it looks small compared to typical bar sized shaker. But there is almost no drink in which the ingredients sum to more than 8 oz. Standard three piece unit - top, bottom, cap - that fit perfectly. Have been using for about a month and the fit is gap free - not a drop spilling out. Keep in mind that when you mix ingredients with ice the top/bottom fit tightens but can be easily broken with a bump of the shaker against any firm surface. problem free.

This is perfect if you want to make an individual martini, or other shaken drink. (You could get away making 2 small or even medium-sized drinks, if you don't put in too much ice). It's well-made, as good as most full-size shakers in terms of solidity and quality. The parts fit perfectly, no leaking or binding. One thing that I don't love about it: Most cocktail shaker caps are designed to serve as one-ounce measuring cups, but this one is only 3/4 ounces. Not a huge deal, though.
