Super fast delivery. Hubs is about to take on a large project and needs a properly working compressor. We have the 2 stage single phase compressor and it has had issue with air bleeding out and continuously running. It was ok for filling up equipment tires and spraying small projects, but really a pain to constantly turn off the breaker for the compressor. Hubs was about to buy a replacement pressure switch ($131) when I asked him to let me research. Read a comment from AW that he purchased the pressure switch and it did not fix his problem and then he found this check valve to be the problem. IR doesn’t have a very good parts diagram and initially Hubs thought we got the wrong part. Later to find that the real check valve is in a different location than illustrated. He switched it out and our 20+ year old compressor is working like a champ. Thanks for making that comment AW, otherwise we would have made an expensive mistake.

My IR SS5 was working wrong, a friend of mine who knows of pneumatics told me the check valve was going bad so I replaced it and it has been working like new since then.

I had a slow leak in my Ingersoll-Rand compressor. The check valve was worn and leaking, so I replaced it with this.It is not an I-R part; it is an after-market replacement. But it works well. The leak is gone.I'm not sure about the durability of this valve since I just installed it.The threads are the exact same size, both on the tank and on the fill line from the pump. However, the outside hex fitting - used to remove and to install the check valve - is smaller. The factory fitting is a 30mm. This replacement is 1 1/8". Not a big deal, but it does mean the manufacturer used less brass. I think this won't mean it will have a shorter lifespan or be less durable.
