I own a 05 Mercedes E500 4matic. I purchased this item to help remove the hub from the knuckle so that I could replace the wheel bearing. Needless to say, after 5 hours of hitting with a 10 lb., hammer, it's still stuck in the vehicle. This product was troublesome from the start. After hitting it several times, the bolts that keep the wheel in place kept coming loose. The bolts are of a conical design. This item seems like it was only designed to be placed over studs, that's why it came with a bag of nuts and washers. After hitting it about 50 times, it was obvious it wasn't going to work. If this item didn't work for me, It may not work for you. Buyer beware, if you want to waste your time and money, give it a try, but I'm left with a bad wheel bearing and will need to find some other way of getting it out. This item didn't work at all...

I was concerned about removing the wheel hub on a 15 year old vehicle that lives in NYS. Boom. Out came the hub with one strike. Tool is stout. Heavy, took the hit and showed no signs of getting hammered. Like the assortment of nuts and washers that make it useful on all sorts of hubs.

I love this thing it saved me a massive headache took a couple good swings but it popped the bearings right off, might be a good investment to get some better washers though as they did not survive the abuse

Had a heck if a tone removing my hubs. One side took me 3 hours with heat and a slide hammer. Bought this thing. Cracked the 2nd one loose with this sucker right away and had it off it under 30 min. We have a ton of rust up here and my truck is 20 years old so I would definitely recommend this thing.

Like others have said, the hardware is junk. Otherwise this would have been a five star review. The washers pulled into the bracket after a couple blows with an eight pound sledge. After prying those out, I used two old lug nuts (17 Ford Escape) to secure the tool to the hub. About 20 whacks later the old hub popped out. Took only about five whacks on the other side.I replaced both rear hubs on my Escape with 225k miles. I live in the northern part of US, and it was the first time they had been done. I wouldn’t have been able to get them out without this tool.

I pounded, I air hammered, I soaked in penetrating oil.. nothing worked until this tool arrived. 4-5 heavy hits with a 10lb sledge those Subaru wheel bearings came loose.

Very skeptical about the product by reading from the 1 star comments. But at this point, I have no other choice as the nut and bolt trick didn't remove the wheel hub. As opposed to what I've read, this thing is solid and weights quite a lot. Along with an 8 lbs. sledge hammer, it took only 2 whack at the thing to remove the hub. Took me most of the previous day in trying to remove the seized hub and only 5 minutes with this tool. I mostly post reviews for products I buy after quite some time to gauge whether it's worth the price I paid for it. But in this case, it could have saved me from stress and significant time if I bought it sooner. As you can see from the photo, 2 strikes from an 8 lbs. sledge hammer barely made any dent (mostly the paint peeling off ) so it's good to go whenever I need to do another wheel hub job.

Well built, used on a Impreza so didn’t have correct hardware. The plate is almost too thick for this size hub since you have to use washers. Even so it greatly reduced change time on the hubs, keep the nuts tight too minimize how many times you have to hit.
