I purchased other seals installed them and all of them leaked put in the ac Delco which is much longer and fits tight stopped the leak

The one I got was scuffed so I purchased another but if you are looking for the automatic transmission shift linkage seal this part worked for my 2005 325 xi.

2006 BMW 325ci. Shaft seal that was removed was identical but very stiff and brittle. The special tool for removal installation was not needed for removal - mine popped right out with a sharp pick. Installation on the other hand - was a challenge. The lip on this seal won't go around the whole circumference of the shaft. The special tool is too big for doing this with the transmission in place as I read on other forums. I was able to find a bolt and nut of the proper length and combined with a socket that pushed on the seal made it work. The bolt pressed against the side of my car adjacent to the transmission and I turned the nut to push against the socket. There was no definitive "click" or clue that the seal was in place. Fixed my leak for the cost of this seal and 30 minutes of my time. You can do it in 10 now that you know what I know. Good luck -

This is a shift shaft seal for the Automatic transmission. BMW no longer sells seal by itself. To get seal from BMW or other sellers you have to buy a kit for $160.00 to $180.00 2006 BMW X5 E53 has a GM transmission. This seal works and is only $5.00, so save your money and buy this seal if all you need is just the seal.
