Product Description

  • Yes, dimpled baseballs about the same size as regulation baseball will work.

  • It tosses maximals 5 feet high with regular baseballs and there is 3 angles adjustable. And It tosses every 6 seconds.

  • No, the 898BH stores the energy when you stepped on the paddled and release it to toss.

  • When adjusting the angle, gently pull the level out a little. Next, select the desired angle to adjust and insert it into the corresponding lock socket. Once inserted, it will be fixed in place.

  • Check if you hear a click when pressing the pedal. Ensure you’re stepping firmly in the center of the pedal.

NOTE:

  • Excessive force on the pedal can damage the machine, cause it to jam, or prevent it from launching balls.
  • Please avoid using the machine on uneven surfaces, as it may cause uneven pedal pressure.

Why isn't the machine launching balls?

If this happens, check the following:

  1. Did you hear a "click" sound when pressing the pedal? If not, it means the pedal was not fully pressed down, and the balls won’t launch.
  2. When pressing the pedal, make sure to step in the center; otherwise, the pedal may not be fully pressed down.
  3. Sand or debris may have entered the machine, causing it to jam. Try adjusting the machine's angle and pressing the pedal a few times, or turn the machine upside down to shake out any sand inside.

How to Adjust the Launching Angles?

You can adjust the launching angles using the machine's level:

  1. Gently pull the level out a little.
  2. Select your desired angle.
  3. Insert the pin of the level into the lock socket to secure it.

NOTE: Please ensure the pin is aligned with the lock socket before releasing the lever; otherwise, the height adjustment may not work properly.

Falls apart when you touch it. The spring is inconsistent and the balls don't pop up one third of the time. My son doesn't even want to try working with this thing because it's so frustrating. Now I have to spend the money on a better machine.

Helped youth hitter with timing along with allowing them to work on swing fundamentals. Set up is easy, no batteries and can use real baseball (different weighted balls with produce different ball trajectory).Good replacement for front toss or for solo work.Had for a few seasons now and continues to delivers

Like some other reviewers have said, this pitching machine is "cheap" and doesn't always work correctly. The spring mechanism is wonky and won't always feed a ball correctly. You must take your time and fully depress the pedal; even then, sometimes a ball won't feed. You can tell when it won't pitch--just keep your foot on the pedal so you can correct it before it pitches at you. There is roughly 6-8 seconds in the timing mechanism, so there's enough time to press the pedal and get set up to hit.

It's actually quite good for practice. It comes with 3 yellow balls which are solid, but, you can also use real baseballs as well. Push with your foot and the ball will release in around 5/6 seconds.I would recommend, thanks 🙂

Update to initial post; It seems as there is a breaking in period. The failures were less and less as we used it. It fails very infrequently now. My son enjoys this pitcher.Original; When the pitching lever is pressed, around 40 percent of the time it won’t pitch. When you have to press the lever again, it will cause a double feed. Very, very frustrating. Also, the rail that holds the balls comes apart constantly. True, you get what you pay for, but if you’re selling it, it should work properly. Debating returning to try another one or just returning for refund. At this rate, I might save for a better one.
