I am happy with the KVM, in general. The build quality is good and it solves the problem of having 1 monitor and 2 computers. I like the fact that the KVM hat this wired remote, which allows to switch sources easily on my wide (deep) desk. As some other people mentioned, nowadays having 2 monitors becoming a norm, so maybe next generations KVMs will allow switching both monitors.

Good product, it allows me to easily swap between my work and personal computers, without having to fiddle with and adjust cables. It is small and fits on my desk without taking up alot of space. Has support for display ports and ability to connect usb cables as well. If you need to connect via other cables, you may want to consider different options.

I needed a way to use one monitor, keyboard, and mouse with two computers. This KVM switch does that perfectly. It supports high resolutions so everything looks sharp and clear. The four USB 3.0 ports are handy for sharing devices like my printer and external hard drive between both computers. Switching between the two systems is easy with the buttons on the front. The build quality is solid, and it's compact enough to fit nicely on my desk. Overall, this switcher has made managing two computers much simpler.

Solid construction, worked straight out of the box. Sometimes it sleeps when I shutdown the computer and I have to push the swap input button to use my keyboard again. Case was easy to disassemble to drill holes for screw mounting.

Very convenient way to use two computers from your desktop, I have an older computer which I just use to run G code for my CNC laser and mill and then I can use my main computer for whatever without potentially interrupting the CNC controller.

Simple, works as it should, but the connections and buttons can be a little kludgey. If you are constantly switching pcs on a single keyboard you may get tired of the interface and a more complex unit may serve you better. But if this is a every so often kind of need where it's just a pain to set up the second set of peripherals, this will do the trick.

I recommend the KVM and it was higher refresh for 4k than others I have used.Switching between computers is smooth with the help of the USB dongle switchThe KVM switch supports high resolutions (8K@60Hz and 4K@120Hz) but lacks clarity on DisplayPort's different supported resolutions.Lacks a hotkey combination, but has a push button for switching between computers worked really well.USB 3.0 ports work well, but transfer speed can be limited by the cable between the KVM and the computer. It didn't appear to be usb 3.1The KVM switch handles various configurations well and is easy to work with.Pros:Supports high resolutions (8K@60Hz and 4K@120Hz).Smooth switching between computers with USB hardware.Unique fact is can handle 3x DisplayPort outputs switching between 2 systems using the same 3 monitors. Time saver.USB 3.0 ports function seamlessly for basic needs and great speed.Solid and well-made build.Compact and space-saving.Convenient switch for on-the-fly swapping.Cons:Lacks a hotkey combination for switching between computers. Not computer controlled it is stand alone as specified.Unclear maximum, variations of combinations of resolutions for DisplayPort.Limited transfer speed due to USB 3.0 cable compared to 3.1. Not a big deal. The DP version lacks HDMI ports, limiting compatibility. Which means I need an adapter for a 4k large TV if used for HDMI. But the KVM was as advertised without HDMI.

I got this KVM to connect two PC's that I use for different things for to one monitor. The switch box works as advertised and it switch's the monitor with keyboard and mouse (i.e. or any other peripherals yoinhave connected to the front three USB ports) from one computer to the other. The button on the box to switch PC's can be finicky to press, and the cable connected switch you connect to the box works better. It comes with two USB cables to connect to each PC to connect the peripherals. It also needs a constant 5v power supply, which comes with a USB-C to wall connection or you can for power; or, you can just connect it to a constant on USB port. Sometimes if you move the box or wiggle the USB cables the peripherals will quickly disconnect and reconnect. Might be the USB cables, but I have pinpointed it. The refresh rate is limited to 120Hz even at 1440p or 1080p. I have a 1080p 240hz monitor, and it only comes up as 120Hz in the settings on the PC. I deducted 1 star because of the finicky cable connections disconnecting quickly and the lower refresh rate at lower display resolutions. I also think there are cheaper options available for the same KVM. Other than that it's not a bad KVM.

Feels solid and well made. It's not overly cumbersome or large, so not taking up too much space. Furthermore, can help cut back on peripherals to further save space on top of the convenience. Good amount of ports, but I mistakenly grabbed the DP version rather than the HDMI, which is less than ideal as it isn't going to be useful for my originally intended purposes. I am able to make use of it with another system though fortunately. Nice that it includes a simple easy to use switch to swap on the fly. If I were going to change anything, I'd naturally look to add those HDMI ports, but otherwise just more ports in general is always a plus. Can never have too many. But for my purposes, this works.Likes:- Decent number of ports.- Nice that it includes a convenient switch for swapping on the fly.- Solid feeling build quality.Dislikes:- The DP version naturally lacks HDMI and so is limited as far as compatibility.

I bought this dual HDMI/displayport switch to use one HDMI monitor with two computers. One computer has HDMI, the other has displayport. The posted diagrams indicate that the KVM switch would work that way. But it doesn't. The output must match the input on BOTH inputs. No mixing to just one monitor. My HDMI monitor does not match the displayport input, so the screen is blank. Therefore, the displayport cable that was provide is useless in my configuration. As a workaround, I needed a total of THREE HDMI cables. I bought from Best Buy a displayport-to-HDMI adapter ($17) and a third HDMI cable ($25) . The adapter is plugged into the display port computer, then the third HDMI cable connect to the KVM switch. The KVM switch DOES work that way.It takes about seven seconds to switch from one computer to the next. Screen quality is practically indistinguishable from the straight HDMI connection. Build quality is fine, as other reviews have reported. One problem I've not yet resolved: The displayport computer is a Dell desktop. If Dell goes to sleep while I'm switched to the other computer, then when I switch back to the Dell, I can't wake it up with the keyboard. I have to hit the Dell's power button. Of course I could tell Dell never to sleep, but that's not the point. There should be a way to wake it up from the keyboard after a switch to it.If I'd known that HDMI and displayport couldn't be mixed, I'd have bought a simpler, cheaper KVM switch. I wouldn't have had to spend the money for the extra cabling. The description needs to state clearly that HDMI and displayport can 't be mixed. At least provide a signal routing diagram. I spent hours troubleshooting before coming to this conclusion, which is why only two stars.
