Double-ended (38.5mm and 44mm) holder wrench to hold and secure the water pump hub on many Mercedes, BMW, FORD and GM engines for removing the thermofan clutch when servicing fan clutch, and/or water pump.

Please be aware that most of the Fan Clutch units are left hand threads (thus left rotation will tighten not loosen) .

I received this product on July 5, 2023 I only recently used it in mid September. This product is supposed to have two wrenches 32mm for bmw and 36mm for Mercedes my package has two 32mm wrenches making it useless for mercedes. The breaker bar is supposed to have a 8mm hex to loosen the viscous clutch unfortunately it cannot be used because the 8mm hex slips right through its housing so it cannot loosen the Viscous clutch nut. It has been a total waste of money. The return window is closed so I cannot return or replace this product.

Quality was ok as far as I was able to use the set. Unfortunately, it didn't work for what I needed. When removing the fan on the M119 engine (in my case an SL500) you need something to hold the pulley while loosening or tightening the center bolt of the fan (8mm allen in kit works for that). The kit has the 40mm tool which does align with the bolts of the pulley, but there's no way to get the tool between the fan and the pulley. I was able to hold the pulley in place by jamming one of the other wrenches between the pulley bolt heads though.

This worked to remove the clutch fan from my M119 W124 400E. There is another comment stating this didn’t work for their M119 SL, but I was able to use the 65mm (largest size) claw to hold the pulley. Be warned though that I had my radiator out, this flat bar is too thick to take the hex bolt out with the radiator in on W124 M119. More bits for the flat bar would also be an improvement but I think you’re really paying for the claw tools.. still 5 stars as it got the job done.

As a professional mechanic, I was very pleased with this purchase. These tools are well-made and STRONG, unlike many flimsy sets that flood the market. The case holds the tools securely, but if you want to hang them on the wall, each tool has a hole for that purpose. You can spend a lot more with the high-end names, but this set will do the same job and last just as long. Highly recommended!
