Worked great for my 2007 Ford Edge front axel. Easily fixed the threads on the spindle I damaged while installing it.

This saved my wheel bearing replacement project! I could not have finished it without this gem. If you were taking off a previous wheel axle nut, it’s highly likely that the threads will be somewhat damaged on the way out during the removal process due to the way the old nut was ‘peened over’ by the previous install. In order to install a new nut you have to have clean threads and this kit made it possible with no problem. Just do it the right way and use a few drops of oil to lubricate the axle spindle threads (and back the cutting die on and back down the threads slowly) when you are recutting the threads on the axle spindle. Just research the thread size (and pitch) of your old axle spindle (and new axle nut) before you start. For my Toyota Sienna, I used the M22-1.5 die and it worked perfectly. After using this kit I could install the axle nut almost all the way by hand, then I used my torque wrench to tighten to the proper torque specs. I’m glad I now have this kit in my tool set. Thanks for making it, I’d certainly recommend it to a friend.

I work for a dealership and this works great for fixing seized axle shaft threads. Have used them multiple times and still work great.

The range of tools for restoring axel and steering gear threads is generally expensive and limiting. I was surprised to find a perfect -20 die in this set that easily restored my steering gear. Trying to start a regular -20 die these damaged threads had me thinking of grinding down the damaged area to get the die started. The rethreading die in this set was loose enough to grab those first threads with no grinding. And not expensive either

3/4 -20 thread pitch and depth wrong. Typical cheap import. Save your money

Great puduct! Exactly the same as sold on tool guys trucks, but with out the insane mark up. Worked great when I used it. Saved me from a $800 axle

I work at a shop and axles aren't always in the best shape when they need to be reused, and these are a great thing to have on hand. Squirted a little WD40 then used one of these fancy cutting nuts to clean up some rusty threads. Great to have if a hammer misses it's mark or some other bs that seems to make a job come to a grinding halt. My friends in the shops near by ask every now and again too.
