Screws too large do not go through holes in washers

I've gotten tired of the same old neck plates so I thought I'd give these a try. My only concern is that the screws are almost too long and could damage the fretboard. Other than that, they look fantastic! I used a 9/16 brad point drill to counter bore the holes which worked great. I chose this because the Forstner bit was too hard to see the centerpoint to accurately drill the holes. It will be interesting to see if they affect the sustain when it's finished.

These are good quality for the price.You'll probably have to shorten them/ grind them down.I had to cut off 1/4 inch.I used these on a custom,scratch built JS2400 copy.I'll buy again in the future.I'll post pics as soon as I'm done with the build.

I used these for a DIY bass with all black hardware. As I stated in the headline, do not use a drill to install. I broke 2 screw heads off leaving screw shafts in my bass body and neck. Thank goodness for a father in law with a milling machine, he helped me cut them out without ruining the neck.

The screws will not fit through the inserts/washers provided. The screws themselves seem fine, but nothing special. Since the inserts don’t work, you could get equivalent wood screws for cheaper elsewhere.

These ferrules were VERY rough cut and have NO chrome plating, look to be bare metal. The countersink is so rough you can see and feel the deep grooves. On top of that the supplied screws will not fit through the holes of the ferrules. The photos are after I re-drilled the holes before I decided to write a review.Granted these were relatively cheap but I never expected them to be this bad. I will not buy from these folks again if this is their expected quality. These are usable but just barely and after some clean-up work.

threads on the screws are fine thread, they where not the same as the ones on my cheap clary 5 string.
