The first thing you notice about this ‘9 Hole Baseball Pitching Net with Strike Zone’ is that it uses nylon sleeves instead of straps/bungees/hooks to attach the net to the frame. This should result in a longer lasting product, since the other methods tend to break over time. Hopefully it will last longer, because no replacement nets seem to be available. The frame is sturdy and is easy to set up. You can adjust the height with pins. The net is designed to catch the balls instead of bouncing them back. We’re using it for ‘no catcher’ pitcher practice, which allow for another pitcher to throw without a catcher available. For that it is pretty good, because it gives instant feedback if the pitch is a strike if it ends up in the net. However, the net area is a bit too narrow; while the plate is 17 inches across, the callable strike zone is closer to 23 inches, since any part of the ball over the plate means the pitch is a strike, and so the ball width needs to be taken into consideration. It would be better if you could also adjust the width. Similarly, we were hoping to use it as a backstop for hitting practice, again, to save on catcher time, but it’s too narrow for that, since some pitches invariably hit the frame. Again, an adjustable width would solve that problem.

My son used to get bored with pitching drills, but the 9-hole net made it feel like a game. He’s obsessed with “hitting the right pocket” now. Adjusting the height took seconds (we use 39” for him). Highly recommend for young players!

Bought this for my 10-year-old’s pitching practice. The 9 holes keep him focused, and adjusting the height as he grows is a lifesaver. Easy to move around the yard.

This pitching trainer is Hefty & sturdy - Great for seeing your pitch. Literally - you can tell exactly which zone you hit by which pocket the ball ends up in. It is super sturdy - and a pretty heavy - which is great for faster pitchers - it won't wobble or tip over. I really like the neon green cross bars - highly visible and helps with aiming pitches. I got this for my daughter's softball league to use in the pitching cages and it gets about 2hrs of use a day. It has proven to be really durable and super helpful for our pitchers. It was a bit to put it together but came with necessary tools and we got it done in about 15min. The girls love it and we have a competition going with the different zones worth different points to see who can hit that high inside the best. I like it for throwing batting practice too - gives me something to aim for and if they complain it was a bad pitch I can say "Nope - see!" Very very nice training tool.

Been looking for a 9 Hole to bring back and forth to practice for my 12u team, and so far I think this is the best option. Portability is key, and while there are others that disassembly into smaller packages, they also take a long time to put up and take down. This one, once together, doesn't disassemble beyond the feet coming off, but it does at that point store flat in most trunks. It comes with a canvas bag to hold it all that fits the flat form factor perfectly. I do wish the nets were a little easier to empty after throwing a bucket of balls into it, but that's about my only nit. Quality is there and portability too. I'll take it.
