Got these primarily to boost the signal range on a Bluetooth amplifier I have in the conservatory (which drives outdoor speakers). Originally the antenna that came with that was about 15cm long and as such unless you had direct line of site with no obstructions, the audio was choppy and pairing was sluggish. Not so with these - audio is perfect and pairing happens in less than a second. As they came as a pair I decided to use the 2nd one to replace the antenna on the CCTV camera at the end of my driveway as that too struggles to talk to the 2.4Ghz WiFi AP in the house. Again (after some fiddling with the direction in which the antenna is angled) it resulted in a signal strength boost and RSSI dBm reduction.Note, they are quite long so the price you pay for this boost is they can be a bit more unsightly and hard to hide but that's physics for you.

When your antenna just doesn't do the job of penetrating into that tight airspace, you need to make it longer. This is about the longest and highest gain 2.4GHz linear antenna you could thrust into your router's port. Seriously, it's enormous. A horse could feel inadequate next to this thing. If a horse used WiFi.Well made, good penetration, with SMA connector. It's hard to receive if you can't push a solid signal. This sure does that.

I installed these on my eap110-outdoor. I'm in a rural area and have a 7 acre yard, and I stream music while I mow the fields. Occasionally I use discord to listen to live podcast recordings, and there's an area in the yard behind a cluster of trees that struggled with the stock 5db antennas. 9.5db isn't a huge jump, but I didn't need much to overcome the dropouts.Happy to say these do the job. I have full bars on almost every inch of my property. The area behind the trees is still not perfect, but it's listenable over there now whereas it was a jumbled mess before. It's over 200 feet from the access point and with thick foliage in the way, so the fact that it mostly works is fine by me.In areas without trees, I've gone 850 feet down the road and can still (barely) see the AP with the new antennas. Before, it was about 600 feet before it dropped and disappeared... So yeah, they made a positive difference. If you have a one-story house, these are fine. You'll have better results moving your router to a more centralized location though.. gain can only do so much inside of a house, you really want these outside to really shine... And not nearby. For example, the room under the access point gets a much better signal from the AP in the living room, with 4 walls in the way, despite being less than half the distance. Gain narrows your signal beam, concentrating it horizontally.. don't get these thinking it just improves signal overall, there are very specific aspects. My roof access point that uses these antennas is just for outside, I have 3 other access points in the house. Even though I get out hundreds of feet from the big antennas on the roof, it's not very effective in the house... So basically, if you're looking for antennas to cover a large open area, these antennas are what you want. Otherwise, to improve coverage in your house, you may want to consider something other than antennas.. good antennas can only do so much in a bad environment.

Ok so TECHTOO has been asking me for a review on this item numerous times. Well here it is.How things are (were):Computer: Home made Gaming machine, multiple video cards (I am a computer nerd BTW. Professional engineer for 20+ Years.)Router: TP-Link WNDR-3600Wireless Antenna: Alfa Networks. Had to once you read about my residence.ISP: Charter 60 Down 4 UPResidence: 150 year old brick building. Brick as in everything. Although the router is only about 50 feet away as the human walks, Probably 30 feet as the crow flies, I was getting OK reception. By that I mean, I had maybe half the bars. And that was of course with the Alfa antenna hanging high in a vertical pattern. I have 2 brick walls to negotiate to get to the wireless router. Now I see you all shaking your head and asking "Why not just drop in some cat 6". Well again, BRICK. Anyway, I bought an (redacted) AP ONLY as I have built my own firewall/router and it did not have wireless. And guess what? The AP does NOT come with any antennas. Yes, bought new from amazon, and says right on the box. But who reads things any more. NONE. Is that a scam or what? Who sells a device who's only function is not included?PROS:-Running Speedtest.net on charters own fiber lines (Location not given) numerous times I was only get 26 meg download. Really, this is more than enough for me. I simple removed the 5" Long antennas and replaced them with these 9DB and I now am getting 45 meg download. Upload was 4 in all scenarios. That is almost DOUBLE the speed and my phone, which got no reception in my office, sitting right next to the alpha now gets 4 of 5 bars. This is awesome. Now I don't know if this was for 2.4ghz only or not, don't remember, but it works great in that area.Neutral:-Because this router had 5GHZ as well as 2.4GHZ I think it was difficult to find an antenna that kinda, sorta, fell in the middle. And 5GHZ is not even a harmonic so the world has struggled with that. But unless you own a MAC or a newer android you don't even know how many 5GHZ networks are probably around you. I have shut off this "feature" on the router and got the same results. I don't think it would do well with these antennas and I was not using it anyway. I might be wrong. Again didn't read, even this ad before writing this and I am not about to now. It may sway what I say.Cons:-LONG - These guys are long so if you are looking for something easy to hide, yeah, not gonna happen. If you look at photo they are plugged in at what is the base of a 42" LCD TV. So you can judge scale. AND remember these are Omni-directional so they have to go up and down (Vertically) to work the best or really at all. If you put them horizontal, you are asking for trouble with reception. That is the only con some people may see. For me, I am a geek, that is the LEAST geekiest thing in my home.Summary: This is a great product if you need to extend your existing router. Just make sure your antennas unscrew and that the screw in is the RP-SMA or you will be having an issue. Professionally I have quite a few clients looking to extend the range just a little bit without the purchase of another AP and the cost to run a line. I have a Hotel that has struggled with a far back room on the second floor from AP2 and struggling with the Bar area AP1. I will be talking to him about replacing those out with this. Think of DBI as a sort of multiplier of signal. You are able to only go so far before the equation falls apart. So I stumbled on these antennas cause I needed them. I stumbled on this person selling them because I am cheap. And WOW, it really fits like a glove. NOW the real test. There is at least one of you out there reading this that is saying, well what about your firewall? Well thank you for asking, you may put your hand down. I am going to be installing that tomorrow and this TP-LINK router has served it's purpose but will be toss in the computer bone yards. (Yes we have electronics recycling here and I am very green) The antennas will then be moved to the new AP ONLY that I bought and we shall go marching on.I did have a chance to talk to one of the gentlemen over at TechToo via email and they also have a YAGI antenna. These would be directional antennas. Remember back in the days of TV antennas up on the roof. That smaller section in the middle? Well it is kinda like that. Yagi's are great if you need to beam your signal somewhere else. If you have a man cave out in the garage or other outside dwelling, or an open yet narrower spot like a fire pit or something this would be great. I work with wireless a lot and it has not been since 2008 I have seen anything strict but it sounds like TechToo has numerous offerings. There are some business that do not want their wireless going beyond the walls, but total coverage and power turn down or up can only go so far.NOTE: I AM NOT BEING PAID IN ANYWAY FOR THIS REVIEW. I HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN ANYTHING. EVERYTHING EXPRESSED HERE WAS FROM MY OWN KNOWLEDGE, TESTING , AND HAPPY ACCIDENT I FOUND THEM. They will be getting a lot more business from me in the future.

I bought this product because we had issues when we were trying to get wifi in our bedroom, which is the room furthest from our router. It worked perfectly and we now have an extra 2 bars of signal and it hardly ever drops out. Previously we only just got signal, so this is a vast improvement. They are quite long, but this ensures that the signal is broadcast further. It easily fit our netgear router and was definitely a worthwhile purchase. Would recommend.
