My four-year-olds ask to read this book every nigh. We've read it enough times that they know what will happen with each choice but they still have fun going through it again and again. The spiral binding is a downside because one of the pages is starting to tear out but otherwise it is great, and a clever design.

This is a fun little book! My seven-year-old had it figured out within 2 rounds and was ready to move on, but my five-year-old enjoyed trying more paths. I like that not all the paths and endings are of the fair-tale sort, meaning you can have a less happy ending. The majority of our paths ended with the mid-ground ending. I really like that it came with a box because I'm sure a three-ring binder type book manufactured in this way that allows multiple paths to be taken (lots of 1/3 size pages) won't last as long if it were on the shelf outside of a box. I would get more books like this in different genres for my kids!

This interactive book is very fun for young kids. Just be aware you will need to help them through the adventure. If a child can read more than likely this is not for them. It is very simple as expected but the book is well made and gives the feeling of a simpler choose your own adventure as opposed to a roleplaying game. The Roleplaying aspect is that you choose one of 3 characters at the beginning. The Girl warrior, the cat type creature (the rogue/thief sneak) or the boy wizard. As they read through the adventure, they pick what they will do and get items they can use over the story to complete different actions. If they pick the wrong character or don't have the correct item, then they could end up with a band aid which could impact the ending they get. The quest is to become friends with a dragon and the endings vary based upon how many band aids they get. There really isn't any major questionable content I see other than maybe the rogue in general. For anyone who has played a roleplaying game then it's pretty easy to ferret out which decision is best for which character, but kids have fun trying different things and seeing what happens. The book is pretty well made, one section did have a page that was hard to turn (the pages for most of the book is broken up into 3 parts and these act as your choices. Overall though this is a good fun family time for parents and kids.

I've been a fan of choose your own adventure style books ever since I was a child and I thought this item was the perfect opportunity to introduce my kids.Instead of jumping around from page to page in your typical choose your own adventure book, this book keeps track of your progress with 4 dials, which are placed at each of the corners of the book.First, you pick the character you'd like to play as then choose 1 of 3 paths in the first chapter. The way the pages are laid out, the pages are split into 3 parts which you can turn individually. If you choose the top path, turn only the top page, etc. Some decisions will prompt you to turn one of the dials. There are multiple 'chapters' where paths will eventually come together but then you'll be forced to choose 1 of 3 paths again. This was a big hit with my kids and they spent hours going through the story multiple times, trying out different characters and paths while trying to get the best ending. Definitely recommended!

My 5-year-old daughter and I really had a nice time going through this together. It is very accessible, with short simple segments and straightforward choices. A nice "my first RPG" sort of vibe, in Choose-Your-Own-Adventure format. It sets itself apart with the excellent illustrations, the happy child-friendly story, and the little gimmicks of spinner wheels to reflect items you acquired and the vertically triple-split pages that let you go down different branches depending on which choice you make. With the three characters, and 4 items on each of 3 wheels, that can be used in different combinations to get through the trials and befriend the dragon, there's enough variation to motivate several replays at least, for any interested child.Beyond that, if a kid is the type to enjoy something familiar they might continue to enjoy revisiting, but there won't be anything new to discover once all paths has been explored at each of the branches. Still pretty good value getting to that point, depending on your/the kid's level of interest. And it could make a great gift for the right kind of kid/family.

The book lets you choose from three characters with different abilities. As you travel you make choices that may allow you to find items to help you in your quest to befriend a dragon. I play/read this with my 4 year old daughter and we enjoy it. It's a fun adventure read that takes about 15 minutes and has decent replayability.
