Just like a previous review, mine leaked with the drain plug provided. I figured it would leak and I bought it anyway. Why? Because any transmission pan that's $200 is a giant WOFTAM.I checked my pan before installation by filling it with water in the sink. I pondered a couple different ideas to fix the leak and ultimately decided to go to the local auto parts store and bought a metal washer with the rubber in the middle, filled the pan with water and let it sit overnight. No leaks. Btw, splurge a few extra bucks and buy a magnetic drain plug too. Don't use the one it comes with. Other than that little problem, it bolted up with zero issues. Super easy. Installed on a 1996 GMC K1500.

Put this oil pan on my 1997 gmc k1500 and it works great! No leaks and when I'm ready to change the oil and filter on the tranny it makes it so easy to drain the oil. NO MORE MESS! LOL

the transmission pan fits excellent.and having a drain plug on a transmission pan is the only way to go. it makes it really easy if you want to change the filter in your transmission fluid. there's no big mess when you drop a pan with no drain plug. good product.

This is primarily a place to host photos for the benefit of KMJ so they can see the issue with this particular pan. They've said I can through our discussion thread but I can't. I suppose because I'm using a mobile device and not a formal computer? No offer of a company email or phone to text the pics. The pan is made incorrectly, the insert sits high inside the pan at the rear causing a leaking condition at the drain plug. I've photo'd the leak as its happening, the insert sitting high in the rear, the bolt from front (snug to seal and rear with the offending gap causing the leak. There's been a few emails through Amazon about this issue but no firm offer of resolution. I'll be back to update this review dependinghow KMJ chooses to handle it. Highly recommend anyone purchasing ANY auto product that will hold fluid test it with hot tap water first. Better to find the issue before installation, wasting time parts and fluid. Check back for a final review. Any company can have a bad part the test is how they choose to handle it.UPDATE: Spoke with KMJ regarding the pan and was asked what I preferred to happen? I stated I would like a pan, and still need a pan. I was told they would have one shipped out and email a call ticket for the leaking pan. I agreed that was fine. Instead they refunded my purchase price of the pan and stated I could keep it. This still doesn't resolve my problem and other than the leaking pan was "free" the transaction for me still is middle of the road as I'm now left to hunt down another pan with a drain or resuse the OEM pan with no plug and a pan that I'm not sure what to do with? I'm almost positive this finish turns toxic when it's welded and will look horrible at the least.
