Why should we replace the old AC compressor clutch?
The AC compressor serves the purpose of converting the low-pressure refrigerant into a high-pressure refrigerant and sends it to the condenser. It is the central component that maintains the pressure difference between the high-and low-pressure sides of the AC mechanism. Proper lubrication is essential to prevent the compressor from premature wear. A bad compressor, of course, will not send the refrigerant under the required pressure, thereby failing to provide optimal cooling to the vehicle.
How to install?
1. Always wear eye protection.
2. Remove the failed compressor. Transfer any switches, sensors, brackets, or manifolds from the original compressor to the replacement unit.
3. Thoroughly flush each component not being replaced with an approved AC flush solvent.
4. Replace the accumulator or dryer and all expansion devices. including the orifice tube and screen.
5. After installing the replacement compressor on the vehicle ensure proper mounting and belt alignment.
6. It is recommended to install an in-line filter in the suction line near the compressor inlet.
7. Add the proper type and amount of ac oil as per manufacturers procedures.
8. Apply a vacuum to the car ac system. A minimum of 29 inches of mercury for one hour to insure moisture and residual flushing solids or boiled from the system.
9. Recharge your air conditioning system using the recommended Freon.
10. After you finish your repairs, conduct a complete system performance test.

Good to have air conditioning again. Didn't need to use the whole kit, just the clutch, the retaining nut and the shims. That was enough to get things going again. Way cheaper than the total compressor replacement that the Honda Service centre was suggesting.

This new AC clutch worked perfectly to fix my daughter's 05 CRV. The clutch isn't a normal service part, most places want to sell you a whole compressor. I was able to replace the clutch in an afternoon and didn't need to evacuate or replace the refrigerant. Great product and great price.You will need some reasonably advanced mechanical skill to replace this in a CRV.

I like this replacement part for my 06 Honda CRV and hope will last for a couple years...thanks to my mechanic who saved me from getting a replacement compressor as it was good. All, I hope the two year part warranty will be good becuase I do not see nay contcat info for the company that sold this part...could use a contact number or en email...hope they read my comment!
