This was perfect to use on my router. It didnt have variable speed so I added this to it to adjust it while working. It works great and I can now route my projects without burning.

I ordered this in order to be able to govern the speed of my 4" cutoff tool. Sometimes the material that I am cutting needs slower than "full blast" mode. This Motor Speed Controller by the YSD Store does the job perfectly.Note that the unit has to be UNDER LOAD for the variable knob to register. Without anything plugged into it, it only shows full 120v on the meter. Once connected to a tool, though, the meter will show you the output voltage that you are using.

This device appears to be an updated version of a similar product I purchased a few years ago. It now features a digital voltage indicator and a 15-amp circuit breaker, both of which are notable upgrades.I tested it using a 900-watt panel of halogen bulbs, and it handled the load with ease. The brightness control was smooth, and there were no signs of excess humming or buzzing as the voltage decreased, which can sometimes happen with thyristor-based dimmers.Similarly, the voltage control was smooth and effective in managing the speed of a small workshop fan.One important note: when adjusting LED lamps, ensure that the bulbs are classified as "dimmable." For motor control and dimming in 120V AC circuits, this little device performs well and offers great value for the price.

Review of AC Motor Speed Controller - $25.99My first impression is that this feels cheap. The enclosure is made of thin plastic, measuring just 1/16 of an inch, which would be easy to get broken. The controller uses a BTA41-600B triac to regulate output and includes a 15-amp reset/power switch for protection. It's pretty simple, no fancy electronics.I tested it with several different motors, and while it does function as advertised, the performance isn't as smooth as I had hoped. There are slight inconsistencies in the speed regulation, which might not suit applications requiring precision. For the price, it’s functional but it seems that your paying for more than you get.

Severe rattle inside before using this device, therefore I performed an internal inspection. The BTA41600B TRIAC which was mounted on an aluminum heat sink was completely sheared from the circuit board and FLOATING around inside. Had I connected my drill press to it, and powered it on, I might not have been alive to write this review. There was no attempt to anchor the heatsink, which was completely dependent on the TRIAC leads to support it - which from the attached photo, was not able to withstand shipping vibration and broke free.Pic 2 is clearly showing all he exposed AC wires/tabs that should have been insulated with heat shrink tubing - without which the floating heat sink could easily have resulted in an internal short circuit.IMHO. Do Not Buy this one (unless you want to completely disassemble and perform an intelligent safety re-build), or any other one that appears similar as it looks like there are several vendors selling the exact same appearing device. No vendor contact info is listed on the Amazon listing and I would not want a replacement unit from them, anyway.

This AC Motor Variable Speed Controller 120V 15A was ordered to allow finer adjustment of speed for my new present, a small wood lathe. My lathe is only a five speeds selectable by stepped pulley/belt. I connected up this speed controller which can more than handle the 3.3A of the ½ hp electric motor of the lathe. The motor was able to be adjusted from about 55VAC to the max of 120VAC. This will definitely give me more control over the spindle speed. The power cord as only 35 inches long, I wish it was at least twice that length. It’s an all plastic construction but seems sturdy enough for the application. It has a handy digital readout for the output voltage and states max 15amp circuit protection. The word “Reset” is on one side of the on/off switch. I did note that the top is labeled with 120VAC at 15 Amps max and the underside label states a 10 Amp current capacity. However, for my application it’s perfect. I tried a box fan with this controller and the fan hummed a little but it did control the speed. This does what it claims and is made well.
