Salt boxes are also called salt cellars or salt pigs. Whatever the name, this is a very handy salt storage box to have in the kitchen. The lid pivots on brass pins, which can be seen from the sides of the box. A bevel along the inner edge of the back of the box allows the lid to open passed 90 degrees so that it will stay open without the worry of snapping shut. The pivot side of the lid is also rounded to ensure free opening of the box. The unique lid overhangs the edge of the box, making it easy to open. This hand crafted wooden salt box is made from acacia wood. The bottom panel is made also from acacia wood. Because this is a wood product, it should not be exposed to moisture for extended periods of time. If it happens to get dirty, simply wipe it clean with a damp cloth and dry it completely.

Wood was a bit dry & dull, but it did oil nicely & had a good grain. Rustic & simple in a positive way.

Very disappointed in this keeper. 2” part of the bottom rim was not stained and the lid is too loose. Recommend you keep looking for a better product.

One night I picked up my salt container and the bottom fell off. Poor craftsmanship. I wouldn’t recommend you buy.

Easy to pinch or quickly dip a tsp into. Don't expect a perfect seal, but salt doesn't need that.

The unit I received had a lid and base that were a different size from the body. The container was not smooth. There were 4 burn or ink marks up the sides. The wall of the cup was split where the screw had been inserted from the lid. 'It's being returned.
